Introduction
FLY Freestyle is a year-round aerial, mogul, and freeride program dedicated to providing a progressive and fun training program in a safe environment.
FLY Freestyle is the resident freestyle program of Utah Olympic Park and a Community Olympic Development Program.
Objectives
- Teach athletes great skiing skills and great acrobatic skills
- Offer safe yet progressive training programs
- Ensure athletes the best freestyle ski training possible.
- Operate as a feeder program to the U.S. Ski Team, Olympic Winter Games, and X-Games.
Mission
We pledge to train FLY athletes in a safe, controlled manner. Positive attitude, perseverance, and a strong work ethic are the cornerstones to success in sports, school, and the working world that children will encounter as adults. At FLY, we will do our best to instill these values in our athletes.

FLY Freestyle programs offer training for freeride skiers, mogul skiers, and aerialists.
The FLY 1,2 and 3 training teams offer a broad foundation of ski training with an emphasis on freeride skiing. This is where the fun starts!

Tentative start and end dates for the 2009-10 winter schedule (depending on snow conditions):
- Jr. and B Team Winter Program starts 12/5/09 and ends on 3/7/10
- A & Elite Team Winter Program 12/5/09 and ends on 3/28/10
For those enrolled in the fall dry land training program, gym training will continue until the on-snow venues open.
Rates
- All rates include passes to the Utah Olympic Park on the designated program training days.
- The rates listed do NOT included ski passes at The Canyons Resort. FLY Team season pass rates will be available upon FLY Freestyle Team registration.
- Team uniforms are included in FLY 4 (Options A and B) and FLY 5. Option to purchases uniforms for FLY 1, 2 and 3 may be available.
- Rates do not include travel and competition fees.
FLY Freestyle Coaches
Tim Preston - Head Aerial Coach
Tim is a former U.S. Ski Team Athlete. Tim competed on the U.S. Mogul Team and at the World Cup level for five seasons. Tim also grew up competed in Freeride skiing and Aerials. He is a Level 4 Aerial Coach with seven years of coaching experience.
John Lobsenz – Development Team Coach
Originally from Connecticut, John Lobsenz competed on the gymnastics team at Southern Connecticut State University under 1984 Men’s Olympic Team Coach Abie Grossfeld. He has been coaching gymnastics for seventeen years and is a Level 3 Aerial Coach.
